In most homes dogs are more than just pets, they are a member of the family. That means we want to include them in as many family activities as possible. Some of those activities often entail bringing our dogs along on a car ride, whether for a five minute trip down the road or on a long distance drive.
To my dog , a car ride is an adventure of a lifetime! There are so many sights and smells to take in that she doesn’t know where to start. I love seeing the excitement on her face every time she jumps in the car. However, I’m not a big fan of all the dog hair that gets left behind on my car seats when the ride is over. White dog hair on black car seats is not a good combination. Not to mention how difficult it is to get every strand of dog hair off those seats after several car adventures.
If you are a pet owner yourself then you completely understand the struggle! Few things in life are more of a hassle that fighting with a vacuum cleaner to remove unwanted dog hair from car upholstery! Maybe the answer can be found in an INNX dog cover for the car.
The dog cover measures 58″ long by 54″ wide fresh out of the box, making it easily fit in the backseat of a standard car or SUV. It consists of a durable polyester material that features a waterproof barrier. That eliminates a lot of worries you may have about damage to your backseat from pet claw scratches, muddy paws or other stainable liquids. Velcro openings along the top and middle sections of the dog cover allow you to use the seat belts with the product as well.
Using the Dog Cover
Installing the dog cover into the backseat of my car didn’t go as easy as I planned. The directions state that installation takes three simple steps, however, nothing about it felt simple. I struggled with slipping the velcro openings around my seat belt straps and buckles. At first the openings wouldn’t give up enough slack to allow me to maneuver around the seat belts. When I finally got one side in place, the other side wouldn’t budge.
After a few frustrating moments, everything finally fell into place. With the dog cover now protecting my backseat, it was time to add the precious finishing touch, my Blanca!
After giving the dog cover a once-over sniff inspection for good measure, it got her doggy approval and she was ready to go for a ride!
Appearance of the Dog Cover
The dog cover is black in color, which is ideal for me because my car seats are the same color. I also liked this color because at first glance, the dog cover disappears into the car upholstery, making it an extension of the car as opposed to sticking out like a sore thumb. It features a textured diamond pattern as well, which gives the overall appearance of being a quality product that is also durable. After a ride around the neighborhood it appeared to hold it’s shape and coloring and didn’t cause injury to my dog. I did appreciate that the dog cover was long enough to touch the floor board of my car. I also noticed that the dog cover didn’t move once in place, which is invaluable with a dog who likes to look out of as many car windows as possible.
My Final Thoughts
Overall my experience with the INNX Dog Cover is positive. Yes I struggled for a few moments trying to put it in the car for the first time. However, once it was in place, it did it’s intended job quite well. I like having the added protection of keeping dog hair off the car upholstery without having to leave my sweet dog at home. The dog cover is comfortable to the touch and my dog did find a few minutes to lay down and relax on one or more of the car rides where I used the product.
I recommend this product to any pet owner who wants to bring their furry family member along for the ride but doesn’t want the hassle of cleaning up the pet hair afterwards. You can purchase the product here:
